With twenty years experience in the field of lighting design, Deb Wythe started her own award winning practice, Design In Progress, in 2010.

Deb began playing with light whist studying for a degree in Furniture and Related Product Design at Ravensbourne College. These experiments led to her winning an RSA award for a light she designed. Her passion for light grew and after graduation she completed some private commissions before working for a couple of lighting manufacturers. Deb then moved to Lighting Design International, under the wing of Sally Storey, where she really learnt her trade. During her eight years at LDI she rose to Associate level working on both international and domestic projects, heading up her own team and was recognized in several prestigious lighting awards. Deb was also an Associate Lecturer at Central St Martins for nine years whilst at Light Projects and then LDI.

Deb has realised a variety of lighting projects including high end residential, hotels, restaurants, clubs, spas, churches, exterior facades, landscaping and light art. She often integrates light into the fabric of the building or creates bespoke lights for her projects. With a clear understanding of the complex technical requirements of spaces Deb works closely with architects, interior designers and clients to create the ambiance required. She is passionate about design and applies a creative approach to her projects.
